Full of the January blues and desperately planning my next break away, I cheered myself up immensely with a look at some of Ireland’s premier 5* hotels. Buoyed up at the prospect at staying at one of these beauties in 2013, I share with you some of Ireland’s most luxurious hotels.

So during your vacation in Ireland, why not treat yourself to a night (or two) in any one of these fantastic hotels!

Shelbourne Hotel

Situated in the very heart of city and over - looking St. Stephens Green Park, this hotel exudes old world style and charm. Moments away from the cultural attractions of Leinster House (the Irish government buildings) the National Gallery, National History Museum and Christchurch Cathedral not to mention a plethora of shops, cafes, pubs and clubs, this hotel enjoys a most wonderful location! Founded in 1824, several notable visitors who have stayed there include Princess Grace of Monaco and John Fitzgerald Kennedy. This beautiful castle once owned by the Guinness family, first opened as a hotel in 1939, however a castle has stood on this spot since 1228. Nestled on the tranquil banks of Lough Corrib, with spectacular views of the lough, it has an almost magical, fairy-tale feel. Just outside of Donegal town, on the banks of Lough Eske lies this magnificent castle.
