One could argue that no matter the location, once you are with your sweet-heart romance will always be in the air. However, sometimes the warm fuzzies do not surface as quickly over the freezer aisle in your local supermarket as they would say gazing at a windswept beach snuggled up together. So with this is mind, I have compiled a list of some my favourite romantic spots in Ireland, so next time you visit make sure to include one of these on your Irish vacation!

Cliffs of Moher – Breath-taking views? Check. Wild winds to snuggle up together against? Check check? So why not take your plus one to the staggeringly beautiful Cliffs of Moher. With such astonishing views you can only marvel at one of Mother Nature’s best gifts. Gaze out together across the vast expanse of the wild Atlantic and brace yourselves against their salty gusts.

Whitefriar Street Church –By a quirk of fate none other than St. Valentine, the Patron Saint of Love is interred here! People come here to pray for a love to enter their lives or indeed pay thanks for the love that did. Every February 14th, a blessing of the rings is held for those couples intending to marry. So where better to celebrate your romance than in the presence of the man who probably brought you together in the first place?!

Ha’penny Bridge – As you wander over Dublin’s very beautiful Ha’penny Bridge and one of the city’s oldest, you may notice some padlocks on the bridge – or love locks as they are called. Couples for several years have declared their love for each other by locking a padlock somewhere on the bridge and further sealing the deal and tempting the fates by throwing the key into the swirling river below as a symbol of their forever love. The only people not so impressed is Dublin’s City Council who are trying to halt the damage caused by the padlocks by constantly taking them down – so please don’t add your padlock – just wander over this gorgeous bridge and think of the many lovers before you which have done the same!

A snug in an Irish pub – cuddle up together, whispering sweet nothings as you sit in any one of the snugs found in our pubs. Cosy and intimate, sip an Irish coffee and enjoy the romance!

Kylemore Abbey – with a dramatic setting in wonderful Connemara and a rather glorious love story in the mix as well, no-one could escape the romance in Kylemore. With beautiful scenery and meandering walks around the grounds, soak up the atmosphere and each other.
