Glenview Folk Museum, County Leitrim
Glenview Folk Museum is a private collection of over 6000 antique, historical and novel items from pre-famine Ireland. There is an impressive array of farm yard equipment, a collection of horse drawn agricultural machinery and a thrasher.
At the museum, you’ll find a street scene with a number of carefully reconstructed shops and a pub. The attention to detail here is truly magnificent and each reconstruction is fully stocked and jam-packed with an assortment of products, all equipped as they would have been in the past.
The tools and equipment on display are a testament to the skill and ingenuity of the designers and builders, whose creativity gave birth to early industrial and farming equipment. Also on display is a broad collection of household items, such as butter making equipment, lamps, furniture, utensils and papers, along with a range of coins, ledgers, registers, posters, newspapers and other memorabilia from the past.
