Step into 1 million years of history and wonder at Crag Cave, Ireland’s ‘most exciting show cave’ in Castleisland, County Kerry. The Cave is renowned as one of the finest examples of a limestone cave in Ireland. Etched over time into a natural wonder, Crag Cave offers an amazing view of how a cave is formed. On a 30 minute tour visitors can explore incredible examples of Pillars, Stalagmites, Stalactites, Flowstone and Underground water channels.

 
Crag Cave in is one of the largest cave systems known in Ireland today, with a total surveyed length of 3.81km (12,510 feet). Only discovered by cavers in the 1980’s the team christened many of the cave’s passages and chambers with names taken from J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings.
 
Crag Cave Visitor Centre includes the Crazy Cave, a 2 floor covering fun filled area for children, a Gift Shop and the popular Garden Restaurant serving a wide range of home made refreshments and lunch menus. Just next door there is also the Kingdom Falconry to be explored.
 
There are many other beautiful showcaves in Ireland, including Aillwee Cavesin Clare, Mitchelstown in Tipperary, Dunmore in Kilkenny and Marble Arch in Fermanagh.
