Blasket Islands, County Kerry
The Blasket Islands are a group of islands which lie off the Kerry coast. They have been uninhabited since the early 1950's but today, you can travel by ferry to these remote and beautiful islands and spend some time in the middle of the wild Atlantic and see the remains of the abandoned houses and wonder how people lived on these remote islands for centuries.
You can take a boat tour around the islands for some whale and bird watching too and enjoy the abundant marine bird and aquatic life the region has.
A trip to the Blasket Islands is simply unforgettable!
