Dublin City Hall, Dublin City
City Hall is an outstanding example of the Georgian architecture for which Dublin is world-renowned.Arguably one of the best reasons for visiting City Hall today is to marvel at the architecture of one of the city’s great buildings.
The Rotunda with its twelve columns and fine statues has been beautifully restored. Now that the partitions used here in the 19th Century have been removed you can get a proper sense of the dimensions of this impressive building. If you’re a fan of mosaics, murals and marble, then you should definitely have a look at Dublin City Hall.
The vaults now host the multi-media exhibition, 'Dublin’s City Hall: The Story of the Capital'. This exhibition traces the evolution of Ireland’s capital city, from before the Anglo-Norman invasion of 1170 to the present day.
Audio guides and leaflets are available in English, Irish, German, Spanish, Italian and French. The building is fully wheelchair accessible.
